A Sweet Stroll Through Nauvoo

Last Updated 6/22/2026Posted in Itineraries, Got 30 minutes?

Looking for a relaxing way to explore Nauvoo? A sweet stroll through town is the perfect way to slow down, discover local favorites, and enjoy a few treats along the way. From handmade fudge to creamy custard and charming historic shops, this easy walking experience blends small-town charm with simple indulgence. Pick up a lotus drink from the Sips Trailer which is usually by the Bible Museum on Mulholland Street.

Grab a cookie at The Red Front for a sweet snack sure to please. If you stopped by the Scovil Bakery during your day here you might have tried a molasses cookie. You can buy a whole bag of the same cookies to take a sweet bite of Nauvoo home.

Annie's Frozen Custard is a Nauvoo staple. A smooth sweet custard is the perfect after dinner treat. Pick your favorite flavor and toppings and grab a spoon. Find out why Annie's is the after pageant place to gather.

Another legendary sweet shop is the Fudge Factory. Stop in for homemade fresh fudge and other can't beat sweets. Every candy lovers dream stop. A little bite for here, and some to take home as well. (PS- they ship too!)

Maybe you just want an old fashioned piece of candy. Zion's Mercantile has a selection of old fashioned candy and some new favorites as well. Grab a bag to enjoy now and some on your car ride home.

Walk down to the Temple and enjoy our favorite spot to sit and and enjoy a sweet treat. The statues of Joseph and Hyrum in front of the Temple are the one of the best sunset watching spots in town. Locals and tourists gather here every evening to relax and enjoy the sunset. A treat makes the moment even sweeter.
