We stayed in the Howell cabin. The laid back and welcoming attitude of the management set the tone for a very relaxing weekend. The five of us were comfortable for three nights. The kids did squabble a bit over who had to share the queen bed on the bottom bunk, but in the end we all got good rest. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to cook some simple meals (Nauvoo in august doesn't offer a wide variety of eating options. We brought a lot of groceries, and did one quick trip over to Keokuk Wal Mart to fill in.) The walls were a little dusty, but it's a log cabin, not the Ritz. The bathroom was a good size, with a little balancing, I was able to do my hair and makeup at the sink. We loved the creative use of frontier tools and implements used as hardware and decor. The scenery was lovely. Being "out" of the town, yet close enough was nice. Overall, we would definitely come back to the cabins. We felt safe and comfortable.
