Finding your perfect Nauvoo wedding venue

Last Updated 7/2/2026Posted in Nauvoo Wedding

Your venue sets the stage for your entire wedding day, and Nauvoo offers a surprising variety of options. Couples looking for sacred beauty are drawn to the Nauvoo Temple, while others love the rustic charm of vineyards and farms, or the intimacy of historic chapels. Riverfront spaces provide sweeping sunset views, while elegant event centers allow for large celebrations with all the modern conveniences. Whether your style leans toward rustic romance, historic elegance, or natural beauty, Nauvoo has a venue that will make your wedding day shine.

Camp Nauvoo

Camp Nauvoo is located on 30 acres, some with river views. Offers more of a rustic/retreat style — good if you want an outdoor wedding or want space for camping, or more informal lodging, or combining multiple functions (ceremony, reception, maybe rehearsal or after-party) in a natural setting.

Cambre House and Farm

The Cambre House is a historic farmstead built in 1867, perched on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Offers outdoor settings, plus picturesque rustic charm. Great for couples who want a countryside/farm vibe with beautiful historic roots.

Inn at Old Nauvoo

The Inn at Old Nauvoo has two event spaces plus an outdoor pavilion, so it can accommodate different sizes and styles of weddings. Also convenient lodging options for guests.

Nauvoo Kirche

The Nauvoo Kirche event center is housed in an old German Presbyterian church. It has stained-glass windows, a stage, hardwood floors, etc. Seats around 95 banquet-style or up to ~125 in more audience-style setup. If you want an elegant, historic indoor space with character, this might be a great choice.

The Nauvoo Temple

Probably the most well known structure in Nauvoo, the Temple provides a stunning picturesque spot for a wedding. However, in order to be married, or sealed, inside the Nauvoo Temple you must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a temple recommend. Please reach out to the church to schedule an appointment. Receptions are held in one of the many other venues in Nauvoo after the temple ceremony.

Baxter's Winery

Nestled in the heart of historic Nauvoo, Baxter’s Winery & Vineyards offers a unique reception setting infused with heritage, romance, and rustic elegance. Family-owned since 1857, Baxter’s is Illinois’ oldest winery, still operating on the original vineyard grounds.

Sonora Gardens

For couples seeking a reception venue that combines pastoral beauty, peaceful retreat, and family history, Sonora Gardens Farmstead is a standout choice just outside Nauvoo. Located on a multi-generation working farm, this space offers serenity, wide-open skies, and a warm, welcoming rural charm.
