Nauvoo Certified Vacation Rental Program was instated to highlight legal Vacation Rentals operating within the city limits of Nauvoo, Illinois. Nauvoo Certified Vacation Rentals must meet the criteria established by the City as well as all State, and Federal laws that apply to Vacation Rentals. By choosing a Nauvoo Certified Vacation Rental, travelers can be assured they are staying in a legally operated rental that is registered with the City of Nauvoo. Certified Vacation Rentals must meet the following criteria:
1. Obtain a business license from the City of Nauvoo with annual inspections by the City Building Inspector.
2. Obtain a State of Illinois Hotel Operators Occupation Tax Number.
3. Pay all authorized Hotel/Motel taxes to the City of Nauvoo and the State of Illinois.
4. Be in good standing with the City of Nauvoo. (Good standing meaning up to date with all taxes, licensing, and bills owed to the City.)
